For the first time, the project Game Mixer brought the German Video Game Awards that honors innovative as well as culturally and educationally valuable computer and video games made in Germany to Indonesia.
During a creative camp, eleven nominated and winning start-ups discussed questions about product development and internationalisation with ten Indonesian game developers. During studio visits in Jakarta and Bandung, a delegation of representatives from the German game industry was able to discover the potential of the Indonesian game industry and engaged in expert talks, panel discussions and presentations about the political and economical parameters in both countries. As final event of the “Game Developers Gathering” in Bandung, German and Indonesian participants teamed up in mixed teams to develop new and innovative game ideas in a 48-hour game jam.
Game Mixer took place as part of the “German Season” in Indonesia and was a joint cooperation project between the Goethe-Institut Indonesien, the German Embassy and EKONID together with Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware, Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur, Quinke Networks, Asosiasi Game Indonesia and Studio Agate Bandung.
