Where do superb ideas come from? They emerge from brilliant minds! But what does such a mind need to deliver a top performance? What kind of environment and support are the basic conditions for exceptional research? Or for products that are unmatched and economically successful? Perhaps even worldwide?
“Fostering Ideas – German Indonesian Science and Technology Exhibition“ showed – based on the German science and research landscape – what path the country is following to enable scientific excellence, innovation and econmic success. The exhibition proved: it is a path of scientific self-determination, interaction, synergies as well as the independent collaboration between education, science and corporation.
“Fostering Ideas“ presented an overview of this collaboration and its most important “players“: major research facilities presented themselves as well as renowned German leading enterprises – all of whom are active and successful in Indonesia. The result is simple: international success stories.
“Fostering Ideas“, which was held in Jakarta and Bandung, also showed that these success stories are not only „made in Germany.“ The long-term and traditionally excellent scientific cooperation between Germany and Indonesia in particular has brought forth diverse initiatives, where scientists of both countries contribute their knowledge and learn from one another: be it a tsunami early warning system, geothermics or biodiversity – both sides benefit from the results.
